Vera Lynn Bowser is a Chicago-based soprano praised for her “luxurious” voice. Originally from Sheboygan, Wisconsin, Vera pursued her education in Vocal Performance at Roosevelt University’s Chicago College of Performing Arts, and has made Chicagoland her home since. Bowser spent many years focused on educating and singing a vast array of repertoire with professional choruses, including Aida with the Florentine Opera Company, Lélio, Otello, Glagolitic Mass, Elijah, and more, with the Chicago Symphony Chorus. Since then, Vera has pursued a solo performance career whose highlights include covering Manon in Manon Lescaut and Mrs. Gobineau in La Medium with the Opera Festival of Chicago, covering Mimi in La bohème with Music by the Lake, working as a guest soloist for regional companies such as: Musical Arts of Greater Chicago, Fox Valley Opera, Naperville Municipal Band, Masterworks Choral Festival, the Lakeshore Chorale, and the Naperville Chorus. Most recently, Bowser performed the role of Elizabeth in Verdi's Don Carlo with Chicago Concert Opera, and was the Grand Prize winner in MIOpera's 2026 International Vocal Competition.  Outside of her musical pursuits, Vera is a watercolor artist and enjoys spending time with her husband Paul and their German Shepherd, Mimi.
